It's Tax Season: Receiving a W-2 vs. a 1099
CorsanaCare works with
independently contracted nurses (1099 RNs). For more information on IRS guidance on 1099-NEC for independent contractors,
you can click here!
What Document You Will Receive (and When)
If you are classified as a 1099 independent contractor RN, you may receive a Form 1099-NEC from CorsanaCare by AmeriPharma.
You can expect a 1099-NEC if:
- You worked with CorsanaCare by AmeriPharma during the previous calendar year, and
- You earned more than $200 total during that year
When and where will it be sent?
- 1099 forms are typically issued in January or February for the prior year's earnings.
- It will be mailed to the address on your more recent W-9. To fill out a new one, please scroll down and submit a ticket.
- To receive a digital copy, please email accounts-payable@ameripharma.us.
- If you earned $200 or less, a 1099 is not issued, and you should not expect to receive one.
What Document You Will Not Receive
1099 RNs do not receive W-2 forms.
W-2s are issued only to employees. As an independent contractor:
- You are not classified as an employee
- Taxes are not withheld from your payments
- A W-2 cannot be generated or requested for contractor work
